MOPH suspends some non-emergency health services at private health facilities

Ministry of Public Health (MOPH) has issued a circular requiring all private health facilities in the country to suspend non-emergency services including dental clinics, dermatology and laser clinics, plastic surgery clinics and surgeries, with the exception of emergency cases.

The circular also included the suspension of the services of diet and nutrition centers, physiotherapy clinics and complementary (alternative) medicine.

The MOPH had earlier issued a circular requiring private health facilities to raise the alert level and be prepared to work with the Ministry of Public Health when necessary.

The decision comes in light of the preventive and precautionary measures taken by the MOPH to contain the spread of Covid-19 and ensure the safety of patients and healthcare workers.
