Mohammed bin Rashid performs Eid Al Fitr prayers

WAM DUBAI, 8th August, 2013 (WAM)–The Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum performed Eid Al Fitr prayers at Zabeel Mosque in Dubai this morning.

Praying alongside Sheikh Mohammed were H. H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince, H. H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler and Finance Minister, H. H. Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Deputy Ruler, H. H. Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Civil Aviation and Chief Executive of Emirates Group, H. H. Sheikh Majid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of Dubai Culture and Arts Authority, H. H. Sheikh Mansour bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, other sheikhs, senior officials and a large congregation of Muslim worshippers.

The worshippers prayed to almighty God to bless the country with peace and prosperity and safeguard its wise leadership.

The Eid sermon was delivered by Imam Sheikh Omar Al Khateeb, who prayed to God to accept the worship and fasting of Muslims during the holy month of Ramadan. He also called attention to benefits arising from the month of fasting, which instills patience, forbearance and tolerance in the hearts of all Muslims.

Citing verses from the Holy Quran and the Prophet Mohammed’s sayings, the Imam reminded the worshippers that Eid is a time to rejoice and spread peace and happiness.

Al Khateeb prayed to God to watch over UAE President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Sheikh Mohammed. He also prayed for the souls of the late founder and leader of the UAE Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

Sheikh accepted after the prayers Eid greetings from Sheikhs and worshipers, who wished him good health and for the UAE leadership as well.
