MOCI: Virtual selling platforms and home businesses are obliged to obtain licenses and display prices in Arabic

The Ministry of Commerce and Industry (MOCI) has stated that owners of commercial facilities, retail outlets, virtual platforms and licensed home businesses must obtain the necessary qualitative licenses to promote the sale of goods and services by means of reduced prices, prize draws, gift distribution, or promotion of special offers.

MOCI also stated that on the basis of Articles (7.8.11.17) of Law No.8 of 2008 on Consumer Protection, all those who carry out commercial activities in the State must record statements and lists of prices and services in Arabic language clearly and noticeably, and other languages can be added when announcing or displaying them in order to avoid legal accountability.
