Minister of Local Development Hisham Amna asserted the ministry is working on tapping new practical vistas on the ground to promote local economic development programs nationwide, up efficiency of labor market and form economic councils that participate in laying down developmental vision and strategic plans in the country.
Action plans also aim to boost employment policies, improve conditions of workers and create more sustainable local job opportunities, Amna added during the signing ceremony of a memorandum of understanding between the ministry and USAID to carry out “Egypt’s manpower” project in order to foster cooperation and partnership to support productivity, employment and reduce unemployment rates.
The minister underscored the importance of implementing and backing local economic development programs to up production and promote cooperation with the private sector.
Amna added the ministry seeks to apply local economic development programs in several governorates as part of the comprehensive economic development program, launched by the Egyptian government to improve services offered to citizens.
