Milipol Qatar 2012 Opens

Doha, October 08 (QNA) – Under the patronage of HH the Heir Apparent Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani, HE the Minister of State for Internal Affairs Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al-Thani  opened this morning  the ninth edition of internal security exhibition (Milipol Qatar 2012).
The inauguration ceremony was attended by UAE Deputy Premier and Minister of Interior Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al-Nahyan, HE Qatar Armed Forces Chief of Staff Major General Hamad bin Ali Al-Attiyah, Sudanese Interior Minister Eng. Ibrahim Hamid, Belarus Interior Minister Igor Shunevich, Commander of the French National Gendarmerie Lieutenant-General Jacques Mignaux, Palestinian Interior Minister Dr. Said Abdurrahman Abu Ali, Secretary General of the Arab Interior Ministers Council Mohamed bin Ali Koman, Commander of Los Angeles Police, HE the Commander of the Emiri Guard Major General Hazza’a bin Khalil Al-Shahwani, a large number of security official from different world  countries and representative of international and regional security companies.
After the inauguration HE the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, his entourage and the exhibition’s visitors made a tour of  US, French, German and Czech pavilions as well as pavilions of Brazil, Jordan and the United Arab Emirates.
During the tour HE the Minister those accompanying him listened to briefings on the state-of-the-arts equipment and devices produced by internal security companies.
The exhibition, held at Doha Exhibition Centre, is experiencing an unprecedented attendance by major international and local companies interested in internal security.
The three-day show has attracted 265 companies from 38 countries around the world with the reserved area covering 5,623sq m with an increase of 24% compared with Milipol Qatar 2010.
Eleven countries are taking part for the first time namely: Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, Australia, Brazil, Bulgaria, New Zealand, Norway, Pakistan and South Korea.(QNA)
