Meeting of UAE-Egypt Consular Consultations Committee concludes in Cairo.

A meeting of the UAE-Egypt Consular Consultations Committee today concluded in Cairo, Egypt.

The meeting was chaired by Ahmed Saeed Elham Al Dhaheri, Assistant Under-Secretary for Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and saw the participation of Juma Mubarak Al Junaibi, UAE Ambassador to the Arab Republic of Egypt and Permanent Representative to the League of Arab States. The Egyptian delegation was led by Khaled Yousry Rizk, Deputy Foreign Minister for Consular Affairs and Egyptians Abroad.

Both sides discussed several issues of mutual concern between the UAE and Egypt and the implementation and development of joint plans, as well as ways of further enhancing their future consular co-operation.

Al Dhaheri conveyed the greetings of H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, and Anwar bin Mohammed Gargash, who wished them success.

He also praised the relations between the UAE and Egypt while stressing the desire and interest of the UAE to further promote and develop these relations, reflecting the aspirations and directives of the leadership of both countries.

Al Dhaheri added during the meeting that the bilateral and global relations between both countries have witnessed considerable progress, which has directly contributed to strengthening and advancing them. He also pointed out that these relations are based on understanding, mutual respect and a common desire to develop them.

He further stressed that these relations are characterised by privacy and mutual respect, especially in the light of the fraternal relations between their leadership, which has reflected positively on their overall official relations on political and economic levels, as well as between their communities on cultural, social and commercial levels.

Al Dhaheri noted that one of the key features of these relations is the ability to establish the roots of friendship and fraternity while developing them under the framework of common goals, most notably solidarity and joint Arab action.

He further pointed out that this type of relationship is positively reflected through the signing of various agreements and Memorandums of Understanding, with the aim of facilitating consular services for the citizens of both nations.

He also noted that the meeting of the committee is a response to the desire of both countries to strengthen their consular co-operation and their efforts to develop related modern procedures, with the aim of taking action to realise a future national agenda that will serve the two countries.

Al Dhaheri expressed his hopes that the meeting will help to achieve more tangible results in the areas of politics, the economy and security, in line with the country s aspirations to maintain their bilateral relations, under the wise leadership of both countries.

Rizk praised the development of bilateral relations between the UAE and Egypt during the previous years, especially in the area of consular co-operation.

He also praised the consular achievements of the UAE, which is one of the pioneers in this area while stressing that his country aspires to develop further co-operation and exchange consular knowledge, to benefit the citizens of both countries and enhance their bilateral relations.

The meeting was attended by representatives of departments from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation and the Ministry of Education in the UAE, as well as specialised authorities in Egypt.
