Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC) is currently cooperating with the Coast and Borders Security Department to launch a marine ambulance project with the aim of responding quickly to the maritime accidents beachgoers are subject to.

The project will ensure immediate medical care to the injured on board a Coast and Borders Security boat without having to transfer the injured person by land to a hospital.

Several meetings and exchanged visits took place in the last period between HMC and the Coast and Borders Security Department in order to prepare the final scenario for this aspiring project.

While a team from the Coast and Borders Security will lead marine ambulance and receive any emergency reports, HMC will be supervising the project and its operation after providing the team with all the required medical equipment that qualify them to be marine first-aid team.

The Department has also allocated a boat with the named Mangaf with which the project is being implemented.
