Mahmoud Vaezi; “The Iranian President is pursuing a line of improving its relations with Azerbaijan and eliminating existing problems”

Baku: “Iran is also concerned about Azerbaijan’s problems, especially about the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. We fully support the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and peaceful solution to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within its territorial integrity, as we did twenty years ago,” said Iranian Minister of Communications and Information Technology, co-chairman of the State Commission for Cooperation between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Islamic Republic of Iran in the economic, commercial and humanitarian spheres Mahmoud Vaezi, APA reports.

The Minister recalled that Iran was one of the first states recognizing the independence of Azerbaijan and opening an embassy in this country.

Mahmoud Vaezi said that after coming to power, Hassan Rouhani is pursuing a line of improving its relations with Azerbaijan and eliminating existing problems: “Thus, the President has instructed us to strengthen ties with Azerbaijan in all fields and achieve a joint success. A lot of work was done in this regard within last two days of our visit to Baku. We are grateful to Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev for focusing attention on this issue,” he said.
