MADLSA Announces a New Procedure to Change Workplaces

The Ministry of Administrative Development, Labor and Social Affairs (MADLSA) announced a new procedure for expatriates wishing to change their employers in the private sector. The Ministry explained, in a tweet on its official account on Twitter, that the expatriate worker may change his employer by providing a notice to the employer, in a specific time-frame.

MADLSA explained that the purpose of this procedure is to facilitate transferring workers from one employer to another. This procedure allows private sector employees to notify their employers of their desire to change the employer or leave the country, electronically. The application will be submitted electronically via the Ministry’s website by entering the ID number and mobile phone number.

It is important that the new employer does not have any restrictions that prevent the new worker from changing his workplace. All applications and approvals will be subject to all the conditions stated by the MADLSA.
