Leadership’ support to voluntary work hailed

WAM ABU DHABI, 10th August 2013 (WAM)– The UAE leaders’ unlimited support to, and patronage of the Al Shohooh Society for Heritage, and their interest in promoting volunteering among the UAE youth, were hailed today by the deputy chairman of the board of the society, Mohammed Khamis Al Shehhi.

In his remarks at the Society’s first meeting, Al Shehhi said the foundations of the culture of voluntary work for the community, which is a major part of the UAE heritage, were laid by the country’s founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan.

“His achievement represents a guide to the future, growth, development and prosperity, not only for the UAE, but also for all the Arab Nation”, said Al Shehhi, adding that Sheikh Zayed’s approach is followed and supported by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.

For her part, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Al Shohooh Society for Women Affairs, Maryam Abdullah Saeed Al Shehhi, explained that voluntary work is signifigant for individuals, families and the whole society, improves economic and social conditions and helps preserve Islam’s values of social solidarity in addition to being the best way to spend leisure time.
