Kuwait's disabled athletes reap more medals in Sharjah tourney

DUBAI, March 15 (KUNA) — Athletes of the Kuwait Disabled Sport Club (KDSC) have reaped more medals in the Sharjah 6th International Open Athletics Meeting that wrapped up competitions on Tuesday.
The two-day event was held at the Althiqah club for handicapped in Sharjah, UAE.
Athlete Abdulla Al-Seif won the gold medal of the discus throwing contest, Captain of the Kuwaiti team Hamad Al-Odwani, told KUNA.
Al-Odwani, who himself competed in the tourney, won a silver medal in the 200-meter wheelchair racing.
Dhari Batti won a silver medal in shot-put, as Said Al-Rashidi received the silver medal of the 200-meter in the running contest. Abdullah Al-Herz won a bronze one in javelin throwing.
Athlete Basema Najm won a bronze medal in the women’s shot-put competition.
Al-Odwani congratulated his fellow athletes for their distinguished performance, hard efforts and wonderful results.
Up to 330 athletes from 31 countries took part in the competitions. (end) smr.msa
