ANKARA, March 13 (KUNA) — Dean of the Diplomatic Corps and Kuwait’s Ambassador to Turkey Abdullah Al-Thuwaikh said that all Kuwaitis in Ankara were safe after the powerful explosion that rocked the Turkish capital Sunday.
Up to 27 people were killed and 75 others wounded when a blast hit the Kizilay district, central of the Turkish capital today.
The embassy has not received any reports that any Kuwaiti was harmed, ambassador Al-Thuwaikh said, urging his compatriots to be cautious and keep away from the site of the explosion.
He said that the embassy established an operating room to receive contacts from Kuwaitis in case of emergency.
Al-Thuwaikh offered his condolences to the Turkish people over the victims of the Kizilay, wishing the wounded a speedy recovery. (end) rs.msa
