Kuwaiti, Australian officials discuss bolstering of educational ties

KUWAIT, March 3 (KUNA) — Australia’s minister for tourism and International education Richard Colbeck stressed the importance of developing educational ties with Kuwait, said a statement by the Kuwaiti embassy Thursday.
Colbeck’s affirmation came during his meeting with Kuwait’s Ambassador to Australia Najeeb Abdulrahman Al-Bader.
Work is underway on the student visa issue, said Colbeck, noting that this was a step aimed to attract more Kuwaiti students to Australia.
On his part, Ambassador Al-Bader said Australia was a preferred destination for Kuwaiti students for its universities’ outstanding academic reputation and services.
He said that his meeting with the Australian Minister also tackled issues of common interest as well as means to boost educational cooperation. (end) ss
