Kuwait Parliament OKs State budgets

KUWAIT, June 15 (KUNA) — The National Assembly on Wednesday approved budgets of government and independent departments for the 2016-2017 fiscal year and referred the relevant bills to the Government after the latter pledged to address remarks on the budgets.
The Assembly blessed the final accounts and budgets of the Kuwait Ports Authority, Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research, Kuwait News Agency, Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development, the Public Authority for Communication and Technical Information, the Industrial Public Authority, and the National Fund for Small and Medium Enterprise.
The Ports Authority’s proceeds in the 2016-2017 fiscal year are estimated at KD 76.2 million and expenditures at KD 62.2 million. KISR’s revenues at KD 6.6 million and spending at KD 84.2 million.
KFAED’s income is projected at KD 177 million and spending KD 26.8 million. KUNA’s revenues are estimated at KD 180,000, spending at KD 16 million. The communication authority (KD 65.3 million-KD 10.3 million), the industries authority (KD 67.4 million-KD 46 million), the enterprise authority (KD 1,000-KD 10 million). (end) sss.rk
