KRCS emphasizes role of private sector in volunteerism

KUWAIT, June 23 (KUNA) — Secretary General of the Board of Directors of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Maha Al-Barjas stressed Thursday the importance of the social initiatives organized by the private sector in promoting a culture of volunteerism in Kuwait.
Al-Barjas made her remarks on the sidelines of launching a donation campaign under the slogan “Donate a Toy” organized by KRCS in collaboration with “Fantasy World” corporation in The Avenues Mall, which will continue until the end of the holy month of Ramadan.
She said the campaign aims to collect new toys from the citizens and residents in order to distribute them to the children in need in the hospitals in Eid Al-Fitr, which reflects the Human side of the society, and it is also one of the most prominent aspects of joint cooperation with the private sector.
She pointed to the great social role of the commercial complexes in activating the social message through activities and exhibitions aimed to attract the young people to engage in KRCS’ activities.
For his part, retail manager at the “Fantasy World” Corporation Fakhri Al-Balkhi said the initiative realizes the principle of humanity and social responsibility between the company and KRCS. (end) akw.haq
