King Salman lauds Speaker Al-Ghanim's supporting stance

KUWAIT, Jan 28 (KUNA) — The Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman Bin Abdulaziz expressed, over the telephone late on Thursday, his gratitude to National Assembly Speaker Marzouq Al-Ghanim for his stances supporting Saudi Arabia.
King Salman said Al-Ghanim’s recent rejection to a speech by Iran’s parliament speaker during the 11th conference of the Parliamentary Union of OIC (PUIC) is yet another embodiment of historic unity and brotherhood between Kuwait and Saudi Arabia.
He added that Kuwait has been taking such stances supporting Saudi Arabia under the leadership of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahamd Al-Jaber Al-Sabah.
On his part, Al-Ghanim expressed his appreciation to King Salman, who seeks to cement and promote stability in the region, stressing that his (Al-Ghanim’s) recent stance reflects the policy of His Highness the Amir, which gives an “exceptional” status to Saudi Arabia and all GCC member states.
During the conference, Al-Ghanim objected to a statement by his Iranian counterpart Ali Larijani against Saudi Arabia, stressing that “we will not, under any condition, accept interference in the Kingdom’s internal affairs”. He said the aim of the conference is to enhance a unity discourse, not a divisive one. (end) rkf.tb.hm
