Khalifa Foundation continues delivering food aid in Shabwa Province of Yemen

WAM ATAQ, YEMEN, 4th August 4th, 2013 (WAM)–The Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan Charity Foundation has continued its humanitarian campaign for the fourth day consecutively in Ataq city, capital of Shabwa Province of Yemen, to implement of the seventh phase of food aid distribution, allocated by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to the poor and needy people in this province.

Abdul Aziz Ahmed Al Ali, representative of the Foundation, said in a statement to Emirates News Agency (WAM) that this is the first time that the Foundation distributed about 20, 000 of food aid parcels in Shabwa as part of the food aid intended for the people of Yemen, estimated at total cost of AED500, 000.

He noted that the specialised work team, which provide the aid begin work after Isha (evening) prayers at 08:30pm and continue until 03am the next morning. Dozens of people flock to the 17 districts of Shabwa, where the distribution is taking place.

Ali stressed that the distribution process is taking place easily and conveniently, especially when the team make sure of the authenticity of the papers and conformity with coupons of beneficiaries of the food aid.

He said the donation of the UAE President to Yemeni people has activated the economy because the food items are purchased from the local Yemeni market, reiterating that the purchasing of the food items has reinforced the financial transaction and delivery of the food aid parcels in record time.

A number of beneficiaries extended their thanks to the UAE President and people over their donation to the Yemeni people.
