Key Taliban Commanders Among 21 Killed in Logar airstrikes

Kabul, At least 21 Taliban insurgents were killed in separate airstrikes conducted in central Logar province of Afghanistan, Afghani Ministry of Interior said Monday.

The ministry further added that two key commanders of the group were also among those killed.

“Acting upon confirmed intelligence reports, Air Forces stormed a hideout of armed Taliban in Charkh district of Logar province yesterday evening, killing 21 armed Taliban and destroying their weapons and ammunition,” it added.

Logar is among the relatively volatile provinces in central Afghanistan where the Taliban insurgents are actively operating in a number of its remote districts.
