Kerry to visit Moscow next week to discuss Syria

WASHINGTON, March 19 (KUNA) — Secretary of State John Kerry will travel to Moscow on a three-day visit next week to meet with Russian officials to disscuss the conflict in Syria, the State Department said.
They plan to discuss, “the ongoing efforts of the International Syria Support Group to maintain a cessation of hostilities, provide aid and improve and expand humanitarian access, and facilitate a political transition in Syria, while also combating so-called Islamic State (IS),” said the statement.
Kerry is also expected to tackle the conflict in Ukraine and urge the Russians to implement the Minsk agreements which include adhering to a cease-fire and allowing monitors to gain full access to eastern Ukraine. (end)
