Kalimat gears up for Frankfurt Book Fair

WAM Sharjah, Oct 6, 2013 (WAM) — Kalimat, the award-winning publisher of Arabic children’s books, has announced its participation for the fifth consecutive year in the Frankfurt Book Fair, commencing next Wednesday from Oct 9-13, in Frankfurt, Germany.

The Frankfurt Book Fair has a rich history – the first fair was held in the city by local booksellers more than 500 years ago with over 6,600 exhibitors and well over 300,000 attendees each year it is widely regarded as the largest and most influential exposition on the publishing calendar.

Speaking of Kalimat’s participation, Tamer Said, Business Development Manager at Kalimat Publishing House, commented: “We are excited to be returning to the Frankfurt Book Fair – it is an event we look forward to each year. The fair offers unique opportunities for meeting with the field experts and expands our professional network; it also provides a platform for showcasing the best in the Arabic children’s book industry to a global audience.” He added: “Our participation also aims to introduce and promote Kalimat’s many talented authors who have proven their ability to create works that capture children’s hearts and minds and allow them to explore the world in new, imaginative and exciting ways”.

Kalimat’s participation at the fair will be focused around promoting Arabic books and will be exhibiting an extensive collection of its books. The publishing house will also be attending a number of meetings with other publishers to discuss possible means of collaborating, buying and selling of rights and other related opportunities.
