KAHRAMAA: Installing 100 charging stations for electric cars by 2022


Qatar General Electricity and Water Corporation (KAHRAMAA) yesterday held an expanded meeting to review the institutional performance, verify the smooth running of business, and ensure the achievement of the goals and plans included in the corporation’s general strategy.

The meeting, which was held via video conference technology, was chaired by President of KAHRAMAA Eng. Essa bin Hilal Al Kuwari, in the presence and participation of directors of affairs and departments and heads of departments.

The meeting reviewed the promising achievements of KAHRAMAA during the first quarter of this year, including the continuation of work on installing smart meters, following up on its work, evaluating the results and incoming data, and working to improve and develop the infrastructure of electric vehicle charging stations, through the implementation of a strategic project to install 100 charging stations for electric cars in Qatar, and this project is expected to reduce harmful carbon emissions by at least 7% of total emissions until 2022.
