Israel besieges West Bank village

RAMALLAH, March 18 (KUNA) — Israeli occupying forces have closed off roads near the Palestinian village of Beit Fajjar in Bethlehem in the occupied West Bank.
The Israeli move came after two Palestinian residents were killed in an Israeli shooting as they allegedly stabbed and injured an Israeli soldier before being shot dead on site.
Israeli occupying forces have been stationed at main entrances to the West Bank’s northern Beit Fajjar since Thursday afternoon, Mohammad Taqatqa, a Fatah Movement resident, said to KUNA on Friday.
Israel has summoned the dead Palestinians’ fathers and still declined to hand over their corpses to their families, he added.
Meanwhile, Israel on Friday sealed off several main streets and roads in the occupied city of Jerusalem as part of security measures for a Jewish marathon.
Fatah Movement Spokesman Rafaat Alian said the Jewish marathon is a political, rather than sports, event organized in Jerusalem. (end) nq.mt
