ISESCO Keen on Enhancing Cooperation with Qatar University

The Islamic World Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (ISESCO) affirmed keenness on enhancing scientific and research cooperation with Qatar University by supporting researchers, publishing their scientific works and encouraging student exchange. It noted the great role played by the ISESCO Chair in Alliance of Civilizations at the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies at Qatar University in promoting scientific research on tolerance and peace-building, and promoting the values of coexistence and civilized dialogue.

During his meeting today at the organization’s headquarters in Rabat with Director General of ISESCO Chair in Alliance of Civilizations Dr. Ezz El Din Maamish, Director General of ISESCO Dr. Salem bin Mohammed Al Malik valued the role played by the chair and its various publications and achievements, stressing the importance of cooperation between the organization and universities through the establishment of scientific chairs, with the aim of exchanging experiences and expertise and benefiting from the creativity and innovations in university institutions.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), Dr. Maamish said that the meeting discussed cooperation between QU College of Sharia and Islamic Studies and the organization through the ISESCO Chair in Alliance of Civilizations in various fields agreed upon especially the Encyclopedia of Occidentalism project and the Qatar Global Award For Dialogue Among Civilizations, encouraging scientific research and student exchange in the field of the chair’s specialization, organizing conferences, seminars and workshops, and expanding the scope of the cultural and intellectual influence of the Encyclopedia of Occidentalism.
