Iraq's army storm Fallujah's major neighborhood, kills 42 from IS

BAGHDAD, June 12 (KUNA) — Iraqi forces have stormed Fallujah’s biggest district and killed dozens from the so-called Islamic State (IS), Iraq’s Joint Operations Command said on Sunday.
It added in a statement that anti-terrorism forces stormed “Al-Shuhada I” and liberated most of its areas.
Clashes saw 42 IS fighters killed and two military vehicles destroyed.
Over the past few days, the Iraqi army retook the neighborhood of Al-Shuhada, Al-Fallahat and Al-Subihat, some three kilometers from the center of the city.
Fallujah, located some 42 miles west of Baghdad, is one of the largest cities in Al-Anbar province. (end) ahh.msa
