Iraqi army regains partial control on Al-Fallujah

BAGHDAD, June 8 (KUNA) — The Iraq army on Wednesday regained full control over Al-Shuhada neighborhood southern Al-Fallujah, which was controlled by the so-called Islamic State (IS).
The army is also marching towards other towns in Al-Fallujah, while big numbers of IS militants are fleeing the scene, said Iraqi security sources in a statement.
In the same context, Iraqi President Fuad Masum called for forming a committee to investigate claims on violations against citizens fleeing Al-Fallujah.
He noted that Iraq will safeguard the rights of its citizens, also calling on all parties to release hostages.(end)
