Iraq Faces Syria In An Important Match In The Asian Qualifiers For The World Cup in Qatar

Baghdad The Iraqi national team will meet at 8: pm, in the Qatari capital, Doha, its Syrian counterpart in an important match within the Asian qualifiers for the 2022 World Cup in Qatar.

The coach of the Iraqi national team, Advocaat, hopes to return to the atmosphere of competition, after the news that confirmed his departure if he failed to win.

The Dutch coach summoned several professional players in Europe, and only striker Ayman Hussein is absent from the team.

The Lions of Al-Rafidain team, which is ranked fifth, drew 3 matches against one defeat against Iran.

On the other hand, the Syrian team occupies the last place after receiving 3 defeats, in addition to a single draw against the Emirates.

The two teams’ match today is the 26th in the history of their official and friendly matches, as they met 25 times before, Iraq won 16 matches against Syria’s four, and five matches ended in a draw.
