Info. Ministry, Al-Babtain foundation jointly organize presenter course

KUWAIT, March 13 (KUNA) — Minister of Information and Minister of State for Youth Affairs Sheikh Salman Sabah Al-Salem Al-Humoud Al-Sabah said the fifth training course for new presenters, being organized by the Ministry of Information and Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, reflects the ministry’s belief in cooperation with civil society institutions.
“The Ministry’s partnership and cooperation with NGOs bear fruit in building the capacity of youth in various fields in the light of the instructions of the political leadership,” he said Sunday evening.
Sheikh Salman made the comments at the opening ceremony of the course which gathered poet Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain – chairman of Abdulaziz Saud Al-Babtain Cultural Foundation, and Assistant Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information for the Radio Affairs Sheikh Fahad Mubarak Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah.
The minister appreciated the leading role of the foundation in the advancement of the cultural movement on the local and regional levels.
He voiced hope that the new trainees will gain the cultural and scientific skills necessary for the development of the media strategy and keeping abreast with the information and communication technology.
On his part, Al-Babtain welcomed the fruitful cooperation between his foundation and the Ministry of Information in the building the capacity of the media people.
“This training course focuses on correcting the linguistic and cultural mistakes which are commonplace in this vital sector, thus enabling the presenters to win respect of their audience,” he revealed.
Meanwhile, Sheikh Fahad said the opening of the course coincides with the designation of March 13 as a national day for the Kuwaiti youth to highlight their innovations and achievements in various domains.
Under the wise instructions of His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah and Minister of Information Sheikh Salman, the Ministry’s radio sector made headway in opening new horizons for creativity through fostering the skills of young media people, he added.
Out of 197 applicants, the admission committee selected 52 for the training course which will enable them to join Kuwait Radio and Ithraa TV as presenters, head of the committee Saad Al-Fendi said. (end) mdm.gb
