Indian Community in Abu Dhabi marks Sheikh Zayed’s death anniversary

WAM Abu Dhabi, 26th July 2013 (WAM) — Sheikh Abu Bakr Ahmad, Secretary General of the Ahl Al-Sunna Association of India, said India and Muslims in India were grateful to the founding father, the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, for the generous humanitarian and charitable assistance he provided to them.

Addressing a grand ceremony held by the Indian Community in Abu Dhabi to mark the anniversary death of Sheikh Zayed, Sheikh Ahmed spoke passionately about Sheikh Zayed’s good deeds.

He said Islam is a religion of moderation and tolerance and a Muslim is not allowed to use extremism and injustice to reach his ends.

Islam does not only prohibit all forms of injustice including terrorism, but also provide solutions to stem out all root causes and factors leading to their appearance like poverty and unemployment.

Inspired by this principle, he noted, Sheikh Zayed stood firmly behind the poor and destitute providing financial and spiritual support.

Today, he went on, his sons led by President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan are following in his steps, earning the UAE love and respect from all ; citizens and residents alike.

He added the UAE and India today maintain close, friendly ties thanks to the warm passion and affection sown by the late Sheikh Zayed through his valuable assistance, which continues to touch the hearts of millions of Muslims in India.
