DOHA: Kataraorganisers have set up a huge screen near the amphitheater for football fans to watch Qatar’s semi-final clash against the UAE at the on-going AFC Asian Cup on Tuesday. Another screen has also been set up at The Pearl, it was said on Monday.

The last-four match between the two sides will be played at Mohammed Bin Zayed Stadium, Abu Dhabi, where the capacity is 40,000.

The match will kick-off at 5pm Doha Time and fans can watch the match for free on the huge screen set-up at the esplanade. Monday’s Iran-Japan was also streamed on the giant screen at Katara.

The maroons are in great form and have not conceived any goal till now and have scored 12 goals to reach the semi-finals of Asia’s biggest tournament for the first time.

We would like to thank the organisers of Katara and Pearl for this great initiative to dedicate these giant screens to watch our national team”s semi-match against the UAE at the 2019 Asian Cup, Khalid Al Kuwari, Director of Marketing and Communication at Qatar Football Association (QFA), said on Monday.

The fans who reach early can certainly find good spots to watch the match from, he added.

Organisers in Qatar installed such fan-zones previously also when fans got to watch the 2018 FIFA World Cup matches played in Russia last summer.

I am sure it will be a great match and we, at QFA, are hopeful of winning, he said.
