HH the Amir Tamim Inaugurates Hamad General Hospital’s Trauma & Emergency Center

HH Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of Qatar, inaugurated yesterday morning Hamad Medical Corporation’s (HMC) new Trauma and Emergency Center, which is one of the largest centers in the region.

HH the Amir toured the Center’s facilities, which are equipped with the latest medical equipment and technologies in care, diagnosis, and oxygen therapy room. The Amir was also briefed on the medical facilities linking the new building with the relevant departments at Hamad General Hospital.

The opening ceremony was attended by HE Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, and a number of senior doctors and officials at HMC.

HE Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, said that the opening of the new Emergency and Accident Center at Hamad General Hospital is an important milestone in the process of providing care for emergencies and accidents. It will serve as a beacon of excellence in the network of emergency services.

She also mentioned that in addition to providing the best possible level of health care, the Emergency and Accident Center, which is four times the size of the former emergency center, provides patients with an excellent level of comfort, which greatly improves their experiences while they are there.

The new Center is one of the largest of its kind in the region, and will significantly expand Qatar’s emergency and accident services. In addition to the new emergency department, the Center provides accident and critical care and urgent services, as well as a dedicated platform for patients transported by ambulance to Hamad General Hospital.
