H.H. Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani’s progressive RUWA gets off the mark at GRANVILLE

RUWA (FR) (Olympic Glory x Atlantic Light) carried the colours of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah Bin Khalifa Al Thani to success when taking the Prix Fabrinor, a 1700-metre race for three-year-old maidens, at Granville on July 12th, opening his record on his third start.

Trained by Henri-Alex Pantall, RUWA was having his third run and was ridden by Soufiane Saadi, who got the bay colt up to win by a nose in front of the A. Fouassier-trained and MarylineEon-ridden ROUVRAY (GB) (Wootton Bassett x Resistance). The S. Delaroche-trained and Tristan Baron-ridden MARTINE BOW (FR) (Martinborough x Glitter Bow) was a far third as she was further seven lengths behind.

RUWA debuted at Nantes where he finished seventh, over 1,600m in early June. He improved on that when finishing second, over 1,700m, at La-Roche-Posay towards the end of the same month.

Bred by A MacDonald and Stratford Place Stud, RUWA is by Haras de Bouquetot’s stallion OLYMPIC GLORY (Choisir) and is out of winning mare ATLANTIC LIGHT (Linamix), who has now produced four winners with this success of RUWA.
