H.E. Minister of Commerce & Industry and Acting Minister of Finance Meets with Ukrainian Prime Minister as well as Several Ministers and Senior Government Officials

His Excellency Mr. Ali bin Ahmed Al Kuwari, Minister of Commerce & Industry and Acting Minister of Finance, met with H.E. Mr. Denys Shmyhal, Prime Minister of Ukraine, on the sidelines of the second session of the Qatari-Ukrainian Joint Committee on Economic, Commercial and Technical Cooperation, which took place from August 31 until September 2, 2021, in Kiev, Ukraine.

 

H.E. Mr. Al Kuwari also held separate meetings with a number of Ukrainian Ministers, including H.E. Mr. Oleh Semenovych Urusky, Deputy Prime Minister & Minister for Strategic Industries of Ukraine, and H.E. Mr. Sergii Marchenko, Ukrainian Minister of Finance.

 

The meetings were attended by H.E. Mr. Hadi Nasser Al-Hajri, Ambassador of the State of Qatar to Ukraine.

 

During the meetings, officials reviewed bilateral relations and discussed aspects of cooperation, especially in the trade, investment, and industrial fields, as well as ways to enhance and develop them.

 

H.E. Mr. Al Kuwari stressed the importance of intensifying efforts during the next stage to encourage the private sector in both countries to establish sustainable trade and investment partnerships that contribute to furthering the relations between the two nations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, as per clear frameworks that serve the development trends of Qatar and Ukraine.

 

H.E. Mr. Al Kuwari highlighted the importance of activating all agreements and memoranda of understanding that were signed over the past years, further calling for the opening of new areas for developing economic, trade and investment relations between the two countries.

Qatar welcomes Ukrainian businesspeople and companies wishing to invest in the country and benefit from the important investment opportunities that have been provided in various fields, H.E. Mr. Al Kuwari also reaffirmed.
