GCC states back Saudi efforts to combat terrorism – Zayani

RIYADH, Jan 30 (KUNA) – Secretary-General of the Gulf Cooperation Council Dr. Abdullatif Al-Zayani said the GCC member states are committed to supporting the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in its efforts to protect the safety and security of its nationals.
In a press release on Friday in the wake of a bomb attack on a mosque in Al-Ahsa region, east Saudi Arabia, the GCC chief strongly denounced the attack which killed four people and wounded 18 others, including two policemen.
“The attack is a criminal and cowardly act which runs counter to all humanitarian and moral principles,” he said.
Al-Zayani expressed confidence in the ability of the Saudi security services to unveil the culprits of this terrorist attack and bring them to justice.
He praised the vigilant policemen who were able to prevent more loss of life as a result of the bomb attack on worshipers at the mosque, voicing condolences for the families of the victims and the Saudi people and government. (end) yms.gb
