Secretary-General of Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) Jassim Mohammed Al Budaiwi condemned the decision taken by the occupying Israeli authorities to allow resettlement in the northern West Bank areas in Palestine.

Al Budaiwi expressed strong condemnation of this decision, which is a flagrant violation of all international laws, and contributes to undermining regional and international peace efforts.

He affirmed the firm stances of the GCC states towards the Palestinian issue as the first issue of Arabs and Muslims, and support for the establishment of an independent Palestinian state based on 1967 borders, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

He also called for the need for all regional and international efforts to advance the peace process in the Middle East and to put an end to illegal practices that threaten the two-state solution in accordance with the Arab Peace Initiative and the resolutions of international legitimacy.
