GCC chief condemns attack at Yemen presidential palace

RIYADH, Jan 29 (KUNA) — Gulf Cooperation Council chief Abdullatif Al-Zayani has fiercely condemned Thursday’s explosion at the entrance of Yemen’s presidential palace in Aden which led to several deaths and injuries.
The incident was described as “a cowardly terrorist act,” according to a GCC General Secretariat statement, “which runs counter to all values, human principles and morals.” The statement went on to express the GCC states’ condemnation of this “appalling act” and their stance “in support of the Yemeni leadership in its continuing efforts to regain safety and stability and to tackle terrorist groups in Yemen.” Secretary General Al-Zayani also expressed his heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and the Yemeni people, and wished those injured a swift recovery.
