France welcomes ceasefire in Yemen

PARIS, March 25 (KUNA) — France welcomed Friday UN Special Envoy to Yemen Ismail Ould Cheikh Ahmad’s announcement of ceasefire in Yemen beginning April 10th, followed by peace talks hosted by Kuwait on April 18th.
Paris reiterates support of UN initiative to resolve the conflict in Yemen, and calls all Yemeni political parties to reach quick solutions that meet the people’s aspiration and end the crisis, French foreign minister Jean-Marc Ayrault said in a press statement.
Ayrault also expressed concern over deterioration of humanitarian and security situations in Yemen, stressing the importance of committing to UNSC resolution (2216) for a comprehensive political solution that end the crisis and deliver humanitarian aid to conflict-stricken areas. (end)
