Foreign Minister Meets Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court

HE the Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani met here Sunday with visiting Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC), HE Fatou Bensouda.

Talks during the meeting dealt with the regional developments, especially in Syria and Libya.

HE the Foreign Minister briefed the ICC Chief Prosecutor on the latest developments of the Gulf crisis and the illegal measures taken against the State of Qatar.

For her part, Chief Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court expressed regret over the human rights violations relating to International Law and International Humanitarian Law arising from the siege.

She also praised Qatar’s method in managing this crisis, expressing admiration for the Qatari role, which claimed based on evidence and proofs, describing it as the right approach in dealing with such crises. Moreover, the ICC Chief Prosecutor expressed her gratitude for the support provided by the State of Qatar to the International Criminal Court.
