Federal Reserve effects US major indexes

NEW YORK, Jan 28 (KUNA) — US Stocks dropped late Wednesday after the Federal Reserve announced that the economic growth in the US has slowed down.
The Dow Jones industrial average have dropped more than 222 points approximately 1.38 percent to reach 15,944.46.
The Federal Reserve also effected NASDAQ to sink 2.18 percent (approximately 100 points) to reach 4,468.17 in comparison to opening with 4,548.87.
Other major US indexes also closed in red, the Standard and Poorآ’s (S& P 500), has opened this morning with 1,902.52 and sank 20.68 percent to 1,882.95 points.
In Washington, the US Federal Reserve decided no to change or raise the federal interest rate, and said that the inflation is expected to remain low in the near term.(end) mao.nfm
