Explosion in southeastern Turkey leads to death of 2 policemen

ISTANBUL, March 4 (KUNA) — Two policemen were killed while around 35 people were injured when a booby-trapped car went off in the Mardin Province southeast of Turkey, said a news source Friday.
According to Ihlas news agency, the attack, believed to be carried out by the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), was targeting a police station in a town near the border with Syria.
The attack came a day after several Turkish soldiers and PKK gunmen lost their lives during clashes in the southeastern region of Turkey. (end) ta.gta
