Exiting US presidential race, Carson sees “no path forward” for his Republican nomination

WASHINGTON, March 2 (KUNA) — Retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson announced on Wednesday that he does not see a path forward in his campaign for the Republican presidential nomination, and will not attend the next debate on Thursday night in Detroit, Michigan.
Carson, a soft-spoken candidate who was unable to win any primaries or caucuses this year, on Tuesday urged his fellow candidates to gather and agree to cease making personal attacks on each other.
Carson’s exit from the field leaves four candidates in the Republican presidential race — New York billionaire Donald Trump, Texas Senator Ted Cruz, Florida Senator Marco Rubio and Ohio Governor John Kasich. (end) rm.hb
