EU expands sanctions against N. Korea

BRUSSELS, March 4 (KUNA) — The EU Friday added 16 people and 12 entities from North Korea to the list of sanctions in response to the country’s nuclear test and rocket launch on January 6 and February 7.
The decision transposes the new listings imposed by UN Security Council Resolution 2270 adopted on March 2, noted an EU statement.
The EU sanctions target North Korea’s nuclear, WMD and ballistic missile programmes and include prohibitions on the export and import of arms, goods and technology that could contribute to these programmes. (end) nk.hb
