Eritrean Human trafficker nabbed

KHARTOUM, June 8 (KUNA) — A notorious Eritrean accused of human trafficking has been nabbed as a result of coordination between Sudan and European countries.
A statement released by the Sudanese Ministry of Interior, the British and Italian embassies. on Wednesday, said Medhane Yehdego Mered was arrested as a result of intensive coordination among authorities of Sudan, Italy and the UK, adding that he was extradited to Italy by air, where he would stand trial.
Mered had organized illegal dispatch of immigrants to Europe. Many died on the way to their aspired destinations.
He is charged of responsibility for wasting lives of 356 people who died aboard a boat that sank off Italy in 2013. He had also transported hundreds of people to Europe across the Mediterranean using poorly-built boats. (end) hha.rk
