Dubai Passes Plan to Build 19 Bridges

Dubai, April 13 (QNA) – Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA)
Board of Directors have approved a plan to construct 19 pedestrian
bridges in 2014 and 2015.

RTA will build seven bridges this year. The remaining 12 bridges are
set for construction next year in various areas of Dubai, according
to a WAM news agency report today.

RTA Board Chairman and Executive Director Mattar Al Tayer said, “New
bridges will be constructed in locations identified in traffic
studies focused on dense movement.”
Construction of seven pedestrian bridges starts April. Five will
have lifts. RTA will complete the new bridges in last quarter of
2015, he said. (QNA)
