Coalition launches targets IS in Syria, Iraq with 23 further airstrikes

WASHINGTON, June 5 (KUNA) — The US-led coalition against the so-called Islamic State (IS) launched 23 airstrikes in Syria and Iraq on Saturday, the Combined Joint Task Force – Operation Inherent Resolve (CJTF-OIR) said in its daily report on Sunday.
In Syria, 13 airstrikes targeted the group’s facilities and equipment near Manbij and Mar’a, the report said.
In Iraq, 10 airstrikes targeted IS facilities and equipment near Al Baghdadi, Fallujah, Habbaniyah, Mosul, Qayyarah, and Tal Afar, it added.
The Coalition maintained that a single airstrike “means one or more kinetic events that occur in roughly the same geographic location to produce a single, sometimes cumulative effect for that location.” (end) ak.msa
