Coalition conducts 29 more airstrikes against IS

WASHINGTON, March 3 (KUNA) — Coalition military forces continued to attack the so-called Islamic State (IS), conducting 29 airstrikes against the militant group in Syria and Iraq.
In Syria, the eight airstrikes were conducted near Al Hasakah, Mar’a, Palmyra and Tal Abyad, the Combined Joint Task Force announced on Thursday.
The coalition destroyed IS buildings, vehicles, tactical units, fighting positions, communication equipment and a vehicle borne improvised explosive device (VBIED).
In Iraq, 21 airstrikes were conducted near Al-Baghdadi, Al-Huwayjah, Habbaniyah, Kisik, Mosul, Ramadi, Samarra, Sinjar, and Sultan Abdallah.
The coalition destroyed IS tactical units, weapons, vehicles, fighting positions, rocket rails, VBIEDs, supply locations and an anti-air artillery piece. (end)
