Clashes claim 10 lives in Afghanistan

ISLAMABAD, Jan 29 (KUNA) — At least seven rebels and three Afghan National Army (ANA) soldiers were killed and nine others wounded during separate clashes in Afghanistan’s central Kapisa and northern Baghlan provinces, said Ministry of Defense on Friday.
The ministry in a statement said that the casualties occurred during the past 24 hours in Kapisa’s Tagab district and in Dand Shahabuddin area of Baghlan’s capital.
Some weapons and ammunition were also confiscated by security forces during operations in the two areas, claimed the ministry.
The statement by the ministry came at a time when Taliban rebels have paced up their attacks across Afghanistan capturing several districts, after the withdrawal of NATO/ISAF forces from the country last year. (end)
