CHINA INVITES QATAR’S CANDIDATE FOR UNESCO, TO PRESENT ELECTORAL PROGRAMME

DOHA, Qatar – Dr. Hamad bin Abdulaziz Al Kuwari, Adviser at the Emiri Diwan and Qatar’s candidate to the post of Director-General of the United Nations Organisation for Education, Science and Culture (UNESCO), on Sunday, received an invitation by the Minister of Culture of the People’s Republic of China, Luo Shugang, to visit the Republic of China and present his election programme in mid-Oct.

This came during a meeting between Dr. Al Kuwari and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Qatar, Li Chen.

Dr. Al Kuwari accepted the Chinese Minister of Culture’s invitation, noting that, China is a main leg of his overseas trips, aimed at presenting his electoral programme under the theme: “Towards a New Start for UNESCO.”

The visit’s programme also includes a meeting with a number of Chinese officials, in the cultural and educational fields.

Al Kuwari is also scheduled to meet a number of writers and intellectuals.
