Car accident kills 16 people, injures 21 others in Egypt's Beni Suef

CAIRO, Jan 31 (KUNA) — Sixteen people were killed and 21 others wounded on Sunday when 22 cars collided with each other due to bad weather on a highway in Beni Suef Governorate, 115 km (71 mi) south of Cairo, the Health Ministry said.
Ambulances were stationed at the site of the accident in order to take those injured in the accident to nearby hospitals, the ministry said in a statement.
Earlier in the day, at least three people have died and scores others severely injured when a train coming from Upper Egypt hit a car that was crossing the railway in Giza’s Al-Ayyat. (end)
