Cabinet Outlines MOEHE Strategic Plan for 2018-2022

HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Interior, chaired the Cabinet’s regular meeting held at the Amiri Diwan yesterday’s noon.

At the beginning of the meeting, the Cabinet listened to the explanation made by HE Dr. Hanan Mohammed Al Kuwari, Minister of Public Health, on the latest developments to curb the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), and the Cabinet affirmed the continuation of the precautionary measures taken to combat this pandemic.

During the Cabinet’s regular meeting, HE Dr. Mohammed bin Abdul Wahid Al Hammadi, Minister of Education and Higher Education, presented the strategic plan of the Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MOEHE) for years 2018-2022. This comes within the framework of the instructions of HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior about briefing the Cabinet on the plans related to the jurisdictions of ministries, other governmental bodies and public organizations and authorities. This includes all programs, operational projects and specific timetables for achievement as well as standards and indicators measuring performance progress, and in conformity with the comprehensive development vision “the Qatar National Vision 2030,” including partnership projects between the public and private sectors, if found.

Among points included in the presentation are as follows:

– Vision: It is about taking the lead in providing the Qatari community with permanent, innovative and high-quality learning opportunities.

– Mission: It is about regulating high-quality learning opportunities, and supporting them for all phases and all levels. This is with the aim of developing knowledge, skills and trends that are necessary for members of the Qatari community, in a manner that should be tailored to their potentials and capabilities in line with the national values and needs.

– Main result: It is about an educational system worldwide that provides equitable opportunities for access to education and high-quality training, and equips learners with skills and competencies that are required to realize their potentials, consistent with their ambitions and capabilities to have a contribution in the community. Moreover, it bolsters the values and heritage of the Qatari community, and calls for showing tolerance and respect toward other cultures.
