Bulgaria Approves Sending Old Air Defense Missiles to Ukraine

Bulgaria’s parliament on Wednesday approved a decision to provide old missiles of S-300 air-defense systems to Ukraine.

The missiles that will be sent to Ukraine are more than 30 years old, however the retention of some of these missiles will be dangerous, unless maintenance tests are conducted, according to Bulgaria’s Chief of Defense, Admiral Emil Evtimov.

In addition, Bulgarian parliamentary Defense Committee Chairman Hristo Gadjev said that such missiles are defective, and Bulgaria cannot fix them, but it is possible for Ukraine’s air defense to use them.
